Anything is either of Christ or not. There can’t be an in between. This is ultimately the battle on earth. It’s simple.
But in the way this plays out, there are layers of deceit, mysteries unseen, games played, trappings and entanglements, history, stories, truth and lies. Lots of lies. Everything may be black and white, but it doesn’t present as black and white. It’s a puzzle.
What is black and what is white?
Sometimes when I go deeper into the meaning of things, I hear the blanket statement, “That’s just the antichrist spirit.” And although that is probably true, it seems often used in order to not think deeply about reality.
Maybe I shouldn’t want to know the deeper meaning of things. But I like to see how God has moved in the past and I want to understand how He’s moving in the present. I like that we don’t always know, that everything plays out in mystery. I like the puzzle, the overall picture, the slow roll. I like that there are questions.
There’s beauty in the simplicity, but I’m amazed by the mystery. Maybe I like it because I know that ultimately Christ wins.
